Alexis Ortega Selected to Leadership Sacramento Class of 2026

January 30, 2026

Downey Brand is pleased to announce that Alexis Ortega has been selected to participate in the Sacramento Metro Chamber Foundation’s 2026 Leadership Sacramento program.

Alexis joins a select group of regional leaders chosen for this year’s class and continues Downey Brand’s longstanding involvement with the program since its inception in 1985. Her selection not only speaks to the leadership she demonstrates in her practice but also to her meaningful involvement in the Sacramento community.

A partner in Downey Brand’s litigation department, Alexis represents beneficiaries, trustees, executors, and other fiduciaries in trust and estate disputes. With nearly 20 years of litigation experience, her practice includes contested wills, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and trust administration matters. Alexis brings a distinctive international perspective shaped by her background in international law and her prior service as an Assistant Attorney General for the Republic of Palau. She has been recognized by Super Lawyers since 2015 and is licensed in California and as a British Solicitor.

In addition to her legal practice, Alexis is deeply engaged in the community. She serves on the board of Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance and is the membership chair of the Sacramento Estate Planning Council.
